We
are pleased to inform you that the 8th edition of the Phonurgia Nova radio
awards is open.
We would be grateful if you could forward the following information to
interested parties: composers, radio producers, sound artists, performers,
etc. Information, registration forms, and MP3 audio files are all available
on the following website: http://www.phonurgia.org.
An English version of the site will be soon available at the same url.
The competition, is organized with the support of the city of Arles, the
French ministry of foreign affairs and the French ministry of culture.
It is split in 4 main categories:

fiction
- features
- sound design and acoustic works
- radiomix2.1 (this special prize organized in collaboration with the
GRM de l'INA, RFI, Le Mouv' and France Culture Radio-France, offers the
sampling and remixing of a selection of 81 audio files archives from the
20th century provided by 9 radio members of the EBU).
May we remind you that this competition is open to all authors, journalists,
and sound makers in the radio medium or outside?
Entries will be judged by a panel of 18 personalities from the radio industry,
the arts and the media.
Winners will get to share an overall prize fund of 15 000 Euros.
The award ceremony will take place in Arles, on the 8th of July 2001,
during a special ceremony at the Roman Theatre.

completed entry form, entry fees, scripts and recordings must reach Phonurgia
Nova no later than the 15th of June 2001.

The 16th Summer University of Sound Design and Radio
will be held from Sunday 8 July to Wednesday 18
